LaVale Veterinary Hospital as we know
it, originally started out as a farm and house call practice in 1986 by Dr. Ian MacFawn.
This original property was bought by
Dr. MacFawn and was reconfigured into a free-standing 2-examination room practice in 1987.
Over the years, several associates
spent time at LaVale Veterinary Hospital, but the current staff of 3 full time and 2 part
time veterinarians left the small clinic crowded and overrun.
In 1998, a second renovation was
completed to allow for the expanding patient load. Farm and house calls were phased
out at that time to allow our veterinarians to concentrate on companion animal medicine
and surgery. The final result is a 6-examination room American Animal Hospital
Association accredited clinic.
