As a convenience to both our animal patients and their
owners, we have separate entrances and waiting rooms for cats and dogs. This feature helps
keep the animals calm, which in turn helps owners better manage their pets. In the mean
time, we invite you to watch our informational videos, listen to XM radio, or enjoy a
complimentary beverage. Appointments are scheduled 20 minutes apart to
minimize your waiting time. Please understand that emergency cases receive top priority,
followed by regularly scheduled appointments.
Examination Room
Our 6 examination rooms allow
easy access for patients, large and small. Our designated consultation room allows
owners to visit with their hospitalized pets and consult with their veterinarian in
comfort and privacy.
Ultrasonography
We have the capability to
conduct echocardiograms of the heart and ultrasounds of internal organs on site. The hospital recently acquired a GE6000
ultrasound machine which provides color flow and pulse wave technology to our ultrasound
patients. The new machine greatly enhances our ability to do abdominal and cardiac
ultrasounds. We also offer telemedicine which transports these images to remote
specialists for their opinions.
Digital Radiography
In December of 2006, Lavale Veterinary Hospital went digital! This means that all of our radiographs are taken digitally, negating the need for film and multiple retakes to get correct exposures. All of the radiographs are available to be read instantly, and are so much sharper and clearer than a regular radiograph. Consultations with veterinary radiologists now take less than an hour thanks to this new technology!
Kennels
In order to offer the best
possible care, we board only patients in need of our medical attention. Our kennel area
includes a new 24-cage feline unit that is totally isolated from the canine unit. We've
also expanded our isolation area so that the patients with communicable disease are housed
in a highly ventilated, sterile atmosphere, allowing no contact with our other
hospitalized patients. Our patients get extra love and attention from our kennel staff!
Treatment
Room/Laboratory
Our expanded treatment room
includes three treatment areas, where individual treatments,
dentistries, or minor surgical procedures can be conducted
simultaneously, even as the surgery room is being used. The
treatment room also houses our pharmacy, in house laboratory equipment,
and our new oxygen cage.
Surgical Suite
Our surgical suite, with state-of-the-art equipment and the most sterile of
conditions, allows veterinarians to conduct two surgeries simultaneously.
Our skilled veterinarians perform everything from spays and neuters to
orthopedic (bone) and emergency surgeries. Our suite houses 2 carbon
dioxide lasers as well as blood pressure and cardiac monitoring equipment.
